Brussels. Alexander Kin–APA. The European Parliament’s commission for industry, sciences and energy approved the recommendations for the European energy policy after the last gas crisis. The parliamentarians recommended reviewing the directives for the security of gas supply adopted by the European Commission in 2004, APA reports. They considered it acceptable to extend underground gas-storage network and construction of the European united gas pipeline system. EU countries have a high dependence on the gas import and this figure can be raised from 50 to 70 percent by 2030, said in the document. The European parliamentarians also recommended signing the new partnership deal with Russia, which has 42 percent of shares in the world gas market and 30 percent in the oil market. They also demanded to arrange the acceleration of the construction of alternative pipelines, including Turkey-Greece-Italia and South Stream. The European Parliament will discuss the draft resolution in February.
