 EU urges Uzbekistan to release imprisoned journalists and Human Rights defenders

Brussels. Alexander Kin-APA. EU Presidency urged Uzbekistan to release imprisoned journalists and Human Rights Defenders, APA’s correspondent reports from Brussels.
EU Presidency expressed satisfaction about release of Human Rights defenders Dilmurod Muhiddinov and Mamarajab Nazarov. The statement covers anxiety of EU Presidency about arrest of journalist Solijon Abdurrahmanov and Human Rights defender Agzam Turgunov. EU demands from Uzbekistan to clarify their cases. EU General Affairs and External Relations Council cancelled sanctions on October 13 which were adopted on breach of human rights in Uzbekistan in 2005.
