EU countries join 112 emergency calling system

Brussels. Alexander Kin–APA. All member countries of the European Union will use 112 emergency line. Only Bulgaria and Romania were out of the 112 line recently, spokesman for the European Commission Martin Selmayr told journalists, APA correspondent reports from Brussels. On Monday mobile and cable phone lines of those countries have joined the 112 emergency line. The procedure started by the European Commission against the countries violated European emergency number bill.
112 will not replace national emergency lines. The number will be used particularly by the peoples traveling to the EU countries. 112 emergency calling service has been used in the European countries since 1991 and all mobile operators have compulsively joined the line since 1998.
