At 12.10 the judges had a break and continued the deliberations at 13.30. In the morning the Constitutional Court considered lawyer Mustafa Kamal Turan’s individual appeal on banning four judges from the process. Mustafa Kamal Turan claims that chairman of the Constitutional Court Hashim Kilic, deputy chairman Osman Paksut, members Ferruh Kaleli and Necmi Ozler should be banned from considering the case, since they are not non-party men. But as the third party has no right to make an appeal concerning the case, Turan’s appeal was rejected. The lawyer told journalists that individuals have no right to appeal to the Constitutional Court and said he appealed to the European Court of Human Rights.
“I decided to appeal to the Constitutional Court, as Strasbourg court will consider the appeal,” he said.
The final decision on AKP will be passed in a few days.
