Irish voters tackle EU enlargement

Irish voters voted against the Lisbon Treaty on European Union (EU) reform, which plunged Europe into a difficult situation, said Hans-Gert Pottering, chairman of European Parliament, APA reports. He said the new members could be admitted to the European Union after the treaty comes into effect. Only Croatia can be allowed to be EU new member as an exception.
