Train crashes into truck at level railway crossing in Australia’s Brisbane

Baku-APA. A truck driver has been seriously injured after a passenger train hit his truck at a level railway crossing in Brisbane, Australia’s Queensland capital city, police said Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The crash occurred at the St. Vincents Road level railway crossing in the suburbs of Banyo in Brisbane at around 6:30 a.m. local time on Friday.
The truck driver has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries and it is believed 15 people have been treated for minor injuries, police said.
Police and emergency services are currently on the scene, trying to clear the twisted remains of the truck from the tracks at Banyo station.
Queensland Police Minister Jack Dempsey told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) that there are no life-threatening injuries at this stage.
"Power lines are still down,"he said.
"There is a number of minor injuries that have occurred -- I haven’t got the exact number on that because that’s still being investigated."
Witness Chris Harmon told ABC radio the northbound train had collided with the truck and shunted the truck into the southbound train.
The crash has caused major disruptions on the Shorncliffe rail line.
