Baku-APA. Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Monday cancelled his trips to foreign countries in September and October due to an ear problem, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Officials of the president’s office were quoted as saying that Gul’s doctors at Hacettepe University Hospital advised him to stay off airplanes for two months.

Gul has been undergoing treatment for a recurring ailment in both ears at the hospital since last week after cutting short his visit in Kyrgyzstan and returned to Turkey on Thursday.

Hacettepe University Rector Prof. Murat Tuncer said Gul’s condition has been getting better, and he would return to the hospital to continue his treatment on Monday after completing his schedule during the day.

Tuncer added that Gul was recommended to avoid air travel for a while in case of a relapse.
