Baku-APA. The European Union is interested in developing imports of frogs from Georgia, the country’s agriculture minister said on Tuesday, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.
"EU countries are interested in importing Georgian frogs and investing in this field," Bakur Kvezereli said.
Georgia has been exporting live marsh frogs to European countries since 2003. Marsh frogs were brought to the ex-Soviet country from Europe for breeding in the early 1990s.
Georgia has exported more than 21 tons of frogs in the past years, mainly to France and Belgium.
