Chairperson of the Council of Europeâ€™s Committee of Ministers called on Turkey and Armenia to ratify Zurich protocols

The current chairperson of the Council of Europeâ€™s Committee of Ministers, Head of Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Micheline Calmy-Rey delivered a speech at the Parliamentary Assembly Session, APA reports quoting its European bureau correspondent.

Touching upon Turkey â€“ Armenia rapprochement process, Head of Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs called on both countries to ratify the protocols that they signed in Zurich: â€œWe should perceive a signal that Armenia gave last week very seriously. Council of Europe calls on both these member-states to overcome all obstacles and concretize the rapprochement process by ratifying both protocols that were signed in Zurich. Therefore, I think, such statements must be considered within the general obstacles of the processâ€.
