Results of photo contest “The most beautiful minarets of Europe” announced at the European Parliament- <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubeyli - APA. Today results of the photo contest due to the most beautiful minarets and mosques built in Europe have been announced at the European Parliament, APA’s European bureau reports. With the support of European Council, ISESCO and International Islamic Conference COJEP International organized a photo contest for the purpose of revealing the most beautiful and modern minarets and mosques of European countries.

Photos of 53 minarets from 13 countries were presented to the contest and yesterday jury selected 5 most beautiful minarets among them at the European Parliament office in Strasbourg. Then several discussions were conducted on significance and purpose the contest, as well as its contributions to pluralism in Europe. First place was given to minarets of Madni mosque situated in England. 4 minarets of the mosque were built in 2009. Jury will present rewards to leadership of Bradford mosque in connection with the contest by the participation of representatives from European council and Bradford city municipality. Besides, the mosques in Stockholm, Rome, Grenada and Oslo cities also entered the first quintuple. They will be given different rewards too.

At today’s meeting of European Parliament, EMISCO organization has announced an important road map “Strasbourg declaration” for Moslems living in Europe. Moreover, “The most beautiful minarets of Europe” photo contest will be organized at the building of European Council in the course of a year.
