Accidentally hanged girl’s parents jailed

Baku-APA. The parents of a mentally disabled British girl who was accidentally hanged in a "revolting and squalid" bedroom have received 12-month jail sentences, APA reports quoting Upi.com web-page.
Susan and Simon Moody of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, pleaded guilty to child cruelty Friday, The Guardian reported.
Charlotte Avenall, Susan’s daughter by a previous relationship, was found dead in September with a cord around her neck. Witnesses at Friday’s hearing in Nottingham Crown Court said her room was covered with feces and she was kept shut in there for 12 hours a day.
Charlotte, 8, was born with brain damage and had a mental age of 3, the newspaper said.
William Harbage, the prosecuting lawyer, described the conditions in her room as "revolting and squalid," far worse than the rest of the house, which he called "a little bit grubby."
"It’s beyond the comprehension of any parent, indeed any normal person, how a mother or father could allow a child to spend a single night in that room," he said.
