SOCAR told APA-Economics that the ceremony was attended by SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and other officials of company and Poerner General Manager Andreas Pörner and Sales Director Wolfgang Heger.
Abdullayev said it’s planned to increase refinery capacity of the Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev and produce oil products meeting Euro-5 standard within the reconstruction works. For this purpose, it’s planned to reconstruct the initial processing, catalytic cracking and catalytic reforming plants and construct several new plants. Within the reconstruction works, new bitumen plant will be launched in the mid of 2018. This will allow to withdraw Azerneftyag Oil refinery from the use and optimize the costs of Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev, produce high quality bitumen and make ecological situation better.
In turn, Pörner expressed his satisfaction with cooperation with the SOCAR. Thereafter, director of Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev Elman Ismayilov and Poerner General Manager Andreas Pörner signed the contract.
