SOCAR told APA-Economics that the Working Group consisting of specialists of Ministries of Emergency Situations and Ecology and Natural Resources, SOCAR and BP conducted observation in the site via vessels and helicopters. No oil leaks were observed in and around Guneshli offshore field and Oil Rocks. At the same time, satellite filmed the site to reveal oil leaks and determine the oil-polluted areas. In spite of reports of foreign media on oil spills, footage of Azercosmos OJSC and Canadian MDA’s Radarsat-2 satellite prove results of the monitoring conducted by the Working Group.
As reported, the Working Group has immediately been created after the accident occurred at offshore field and regularly conducts the monitoring. Results of the monitoring will be publicized periodically.
