According to APA-Economics, Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze said SOCAR will not be able to meet Georgia’s demand for gas this year.

“Capital investment and technical support should be provided in order to increase gas volume from Azerbaijan to Georgia. The matter is about SOCAR’s participation in this project. The sides are ready for this”, Kaladze said.

He noted that Azerbaijan is the strategic partner of Georgia.

Today’s meeting was held behind the closed doors.

Georgia is represented by Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze.

Earlier, Kaladze said Russia offers lower gas price than Azerbaijan but did not say exact figure. Along with this, he noted the price offered by Russia was presented to SOCAR.
