Gordon Birrell: Around 31% of works on the Southern Gas Corridor have already been completed

According to him, these works include designing, purchase of lands and etc: “Reconstruction works in Chirag field will commence after two months. As you know Planned Maintenance (PM) activities are underway in West Azeri platform. After these works, Planned Maintenance (PM) activities will be carried out in Chirag platform. These works will not have impact on annual production. We have drilled 8 wells. At the same time, jackets have been installed for two platforms. Modernization works of the pipe-laying ships have already been completed. The works will commence in a few days. Construction of two compressor stations in Georgia have started”, Birrell said.

He said that only in Azerbaijan over $10 bln- contracts on Shahdeniz 2 and the Southern Gas corridor have been signed and 12,500 workers have been recruited.
