According to him, those releasing such statements aim only to draw attention: “Some aim to draw attention by releasing inadmissible statements and achieve it. Such statements are ridiculous. Information about SOCAR Georgia’s shares is available for public. We operate transparently”.
Leader of Free Georgia party Kakha Kukava said in his interview to Khronika newspaper that SOCAR Georgia’s 49%-share was owned by the former first lady of Georgia Sandra Roelofs. 51% of shares are owned by SOCAR: “If you get familiarized with the foreign business magazines, you will see SOCAR Georgia’s 49% share is owned by company that belongs to Sandra Roelofs. After change of government in Georgia, the local media has repeatedly reported that Bidzina Ivanishvili has blackmailed SOCAR, as well as Azerbaijani government with this and required to register it in the name of his relative Ucha Mamatsashvili. However, this requirement was rejected. Now, Ivanishvili requires his share from SOCAR using Kakha Kaladze. It’s clear that Georgia-Gazprom negotiations have not a political side”.
51% of SOCAR Georgia belongs to SOCAR, 49% to Petro-Trans Company. But there is information that Petro Trans was established in free zone and head office is located in Dubai.
