“As you know, technical was preventing it. We discussed this issue with Shahdeniz consortium. Of course, demand for gas increases in the winter. We purchase gas from Shahdeniz consortium and a part of that gas is directed to the domestic market and we have right to sell another part to Georgia and Turkey. Therefore, we increased gas supply to Georgia by 500 million cubic meters. Georgia was mainly importing 800 mln cubic meters of Shahdeniz gas. Now, this figure reached 1.5 bln cubic meters. Along with this, an opportunity created for transportation of 1.5 bln cubic meters via Gazakh line. So, we could meet current and future demand”, Abdullayev said.
