This year, Kazakhstan is planning to put 9 renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 455.5 MW into operation, said the country's Minister of Energy, Almasadam Sätqaliev, APA-Economics reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
"This will significantly increase the share of green energy in the country's energy balance and help reduce the carbon footprint," the minister noted.
According to Almasadam Sätqaliev, the share of renewable energy sources in the total production volume in 2024 made up 6.4% (7.58 billion kWh).
The minister also emphasized that in 2025, Kazakhstan is planning to put 166 MW of traditional electricity production capacity into operation.
