The feasibility of implementing heat pump systems in Azerbaijan has been clarified, APA reports.
During a public hearing organized today by the Parliamentary Committee on Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology regarding the new draft law “On Heat Supply,” Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov stated that heat pump systems do exist, but they are still very expensive.
The Deputy Minister noted that this technology is also not widely used in European Union countries at the moment: “These technologies are similar to air conditioners; when implemented, there will be no need for gas, as they operate on electricity. However, we do not intend to turn Azerbaijan into a testing ground for unproven technologies. We are observing the experiences of countries that have implemented these systems. We have considered applying such systems in Karabakh.”
