"The issue of tariffs will become irrelevant," said Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov at a public hearing held at the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Committee for Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, APA reports.
"Karabakh was a turning point for us; it has been declared a green energy zone. This sounds absurd without a central heating system. The installation of a central heating system in Karabakh is firmly supported, and steps are being taken in this direction. A central heating system is more affordable and safer. At the same time, it causes less harm to the environment. The green energy concept is currently being implemented in Karabakh. Karabakh is our only region that has committed to net-zero emissions by 2050. We have presented this region as an example to the entire world,” the deputy minister said.
The deputy minister added that the tariff issue will become meaningless: "Any society established by citizens themselves will be able to operate such a boiler house. That is, if they want, they can apply to "Azeristiliktachizat" or to another place. Citizens will decide for themselves."
