Azerbaijan provides Georgia with uninterrupted supplies of gas and other energy resources, Georgia's Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Inga Phaladze stated while speaking at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
“As you know, we cooperate very closely with Azerbaijan, and since our country does not possess natural resources, Azerbaijan continuously supplies us with gas and other energy resources,” the deputy minister noted.
According to her, Georgia is also actively involved in discussions and implementation of major strategic projects carried out by neighboring countries. At the same time, Georgia supports the development of renewable energy systems in neighboring states so that it can supply them with electricity when needed.
“Another important area is the implementation of new technologies. We are introducing innovative solutions such as energy storage systems, particularly battery storage facilities, and sharing our experience. These technologies are extremely important for the stability and reliability of the energy system. At the same time, we are expanding electricity networks and constructing new substations,” Inga Phaladze emphasized.
She added that Georgia is seeking to contribute to strengthening energy security by expanding cooperation with neighboring countries. This approach also further reinforces Georgia’s role as a reliable transit country.
