Ankara to host TUROGE-2009 in March
# 25 February 2009 15:54 (UTC +04:00)
Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. TUROGE, the largest conference & showcase for the oil and gas sector in Turkey, will take place for the 8th consecutive year on 11-13 March at the Sheraton Hotel & Convention Centre, Ankara, Turkey.
An Azerbaijani delegation is also due to attend the exhibition.
Since its launch, TUROGE has become the key event for the oil and gas industry in Turkey, bringing together representatives from major companies and associations in a country that is strategically important. As an energy transit route, Turkey links the major oil and gas producing regions that lie north and east of the country and the extensive consumer market to the west and south. TUROGE consists of a conference and co-located exhibition showcase, providing an insight into current trends, and access to available technologies and opportunities that exist in this dynamic market.
These industry leaders will discuss the role of Turkey as a bridge between the Middle East and Europe, highlighting Turkey’s high status in the region and debating issues such as the future of the Nabucco gas pipeline and energy security. The conference regularly attracts in excess of 500 senior representatives of the oil and gas industry and twelve official delegations are expected to attend this year’s event from: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, OPEC, the European Commission and the USA, amongst others.
The co-located exhibition showcase provides an opportunity to find out about products and services available on the Turkish oil and gas market, including exploration & development projects, seismic data acquisition, reactors, heaters & turbines and electrical equipment. Last year, the showcase featured 110 exhibitors from 24 countries and attracted more than 3,500 attendees.
