Caspian region’s largest cement plant to be built in Azerbaijan

The tender includes the construction of the whole cycle of cement production based on the advanced technology as well as dry production, including the establishment of necessary infrastructure, supply and crushing of raw materials, as well as storage, packaging and sale of finished products.
The equipment and the technology shall meet the European most modern and strict environmental standards.
Norm LLC acquired raw material deposits and the construction site in the Garadagh district of Baku.
In addition, the company has completed the necessary topographical and preliminary exploration study.
By April 2009, recoverable raw materials stocks will be estimated.
In 2008, Norm LLC completed the tender for the provision of consulting services for the project.
Holtec Consulting Private Limited (India) won the tender and this consulting firm is now a technical consultant for Norm LLC to develop the project and select a contractor for the construction of the plant.
The project will be implemented in three phases.
The completion of the first phase and production of the first batch of cement is scheduled for mid 2011.
Two ovens with a capacity of 2 million tons of Portland cement a year, and 100 000 tons of oil well cement (oil industry) a year will be put in operation in the first phase.
The second and third stages involve construction of two additional lines with an additional capacity of 4 million tons of cement a year.
Thus, Gızıldash Sement with a annual capacity of 6 million tons of Portland cement and 100 000 tons of oil well cement will be the biggest cement maker in Azerbaijan and the entire Caspian region.
Norm LLC was created on 4 May 2006 with the aim of building a cement plant and selling he finished products (cement and clinker), primarily in the Azerbaijani market.
