Azerbaijan will cut off gas supply to high-rise buildings with improper combination boilers

â€œOur survey and inspection shows that the residents are careless, they put the smoke pipe of their gas stove into a water bucket instead of taking smoke through the flue outside. Besides, they use rubber hoses for bring gas to the stove instead of standard metal pipes. Also, not cleaning chimneys for years plays a part in the incidents,â€ he added.
In his words, people donâ€™t obey the measure which banned the use of natural gas for heating in high-rise apartment buildings.
According to him, combination boilers or combi have to be installed on the balcony in accordance with the standards.
â€œUnfortunately, they usually close the combi-installed balconies. Gas supply will be cut off if such causes were found in any buildings,â€ he warned.
He did not agree with the rumor that incidents occurred due to the quality of the gas supplied to households.
According to him, SOCAR refines and transports gas to AzeriGaz.
Asked why there has been no gas poisoning in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) which uses Iranian gas instead of Azeri gas, he replied that residents keep to the safety rules there, so no incident happens.
