President Ilham Aliyev: "The financial and economic sector in Azerbaijan must be absolutely transparent"

“In the current conditions, the main objective set by the Government, is to ensure macroeconomic stability and the normal rate of inflation. At the end of this year, inflation is less than 4 percent. The next year we should try to keep it at the lowest level. In recent years, we attached great importance to the local production, allocated funds to both the public and the private sector. President Aliyev stressed that even more serious struggle will be carried out against bribery, corruption, monopolization, illegal activities: "From now on we have to more seriously pursue a policy of economic liberalization. In particular, there will be more serious fight against monopoly. Monopoly should not be allowed either in import or local production. In this case, no one can have special privileges. Economic liberalization, free, healthy competition, elimination of negative phenomena, even more serious fight against corruption, bribery, economic reform - that is our way.
