PA official: Azerbaijan also affected by global processes

He said the Azerbaijani state is much stronger than it was in 90s of the last century. “Today, the Azerbaijani people are stronger. The unity of the state and people will allow overcoming the difficulties,” said Mehdiyev.

Measures are underway to eliminate the effects of the global crisis, Mehdiyev added. “We are only concerned over certain external forces that by all means are trying to take advantage of this situation.”

According to Mehdiyev, the fifth column in Azerbaijan, which supports these forces and violates the country’s laws, is also seeking to destabilize the situation in the country and take advantage of the difficulties. Intellectuals, elders should have their say at this point.

By the end of 2015, Azerbaijan began to gradually experience the global economic crisis that began years ago, however, the country managed to overcome this situation relying on its economic potential, Mehdiyev stressed.
