Baku. Etibar Mammadov – APA. The Nov.1 parliamentary election in Azerbaijan has been held in accordance with highest international standards, the former foreign minister of Israel, leader of "Our House Israel" party, Avigdor Lieberman, who is also the head of the Israeli delegation that monitored Azerbaijan’s election, told reporters in Baku on Monday.

The election in Azerbaijan took place openly and transparently, Lieberman said, extending congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan.

A four-member Israeli delegation observed the election in Azerbaijan, he said, noting that they also witnessed high culture of the election at the polling stations.

Lieberman said that the Azerbaijani-Israeli relations are developing.

He said the OSCE ODIHR’s refusal to send observers to the Azerbaijani election is an indication of double standards.

“International organizations are committed to a double standard approach not only to Azerbaijan, but also to other countries,” he stressed.
