The Head of State said Azerbaijan and Afghanistan are very active political dialogue in international organizations, cooperate closely in the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Organization for Economic Co-operation: "We are very grateful to your country for the continued support of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. You supported us during the voting in the UN General Assembly. You have supported us, when Azerbaijan was a candidate for non-permanent members of the UN Security Council. We are very grateful for that. At the same time, and we support all initiatives in Afghanistan, in all international organizations. With such perfect political ties, we must focus on economic issues. "
President Ilham Aliyev noted that both public and private companies of Azerbaijan are ready to invest in Afghanistan and to strengthen the economic component of our cooperation: "Today we also discussed issues related to communication, railway communication. I informed you that we are completing the missing part of the Silk Road - rail links between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. I hope that next year we will celebrate the opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Gars. However, we have already taken the first container train from China to Azerbaijan and to transit through the territory of Azerbaijan. We are testing the route. Of course, we want to enhance international cooperation in the transport sector. There are good opportunities in the field of energy. Thus, we want to expand cooperation in all areas. As we have discussed, Azerbaijan is a member of the Mission Strong and we try to contribute to peace and development in your country.
