Baku. Elnur Mammadli–APA. “Opposition parties announced their joining to the presidential elections this year can not join the block of candidates we established”, Sardar Jalaloglu, Chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) told APA. He said Democratic, Musavat, National Independence, Progress parties and Public Union for Azerbaijan united their activities within the format “five” and they intended to turn it into the block of candidates. Jalaloglu said there were concrete reasons for other candidates not to join to the block. “There is constructive, loyal and radical opposition in Azerbaijan. Naturally the radical opposition boycotts the elections and we can not come together with them. “Five” doesn’t support the unification with the loyal opposition too. The loyal forces don’t participate in the government’s activity and management, but they are tolerant to the government’s policy. Many of them nominated their candidates. We united our forces as the organizations always making constructive proposals”. Jalaloglu said he raised the issue of unification with the loyal opposition for several times. “The parties united in “Five” have a careful position on this issue. It is necessary to widen the borders and framework as possible to gather more forces during the elections. However we have bitter experience that usually unions created during the elections receive jolts from the loyal opposition. They compromised with the government and didn’t observe the agreements reached with other parties”.
