Norwegian State Secretary: â€œI believe that Azerbaijan will hold democratic elections meeting the world standardsâ€

Liv Monica Stubholt said she had discussed with Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov the level of bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects of cooperation. The State Secretary said she had exchanged views with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev on continuing energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Norway. State Secretary also noted that Norwegian Statoil Company would continue cooperation with Azerbaijan in the project of pipelines and in the field of production. Liv Monica Stubholt considers that the forthcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be a splendid opportunity for our country.
â€œPresidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan this year and the whole world will observe Azerbaijan. This is a splendid opportunity for your country to show its potential to the entire world. I believe that Azerbaijan will hold the elections meeting the world standards. I hope democratic elections in the country will give an impetus to the further development of Azerbaijan,â€ she said.
