Head of Election Information Center under the Central Election Commission Ramin Huseynov said that there are 7,834,584 voters in Azerbaijan at present. 2,320,697 (48%) of them are men and 2,513,887 (52%) are women. 55,482 (1.15%) of the voters are persons who reached 18 this year. 1,864,121 (38.56%) of the voters are at the age of 19-35, 2,020,925 (41.80%) at the age of 36-55 and 894,056 (18.49%) are over 56.
Member of the Central Election Commission Akif Gurbanov said the voters’ lists were not specified properly, the figures were exaggerated. He said he had counted the voters in the constituencies, but their number was less than the declared figure. CEC member said approximately 150,000 voters were artificially increased and demanded its explanation. Akif Gurbanov called on the members of Central Election Commission to vote against the voters’ list. Despite this, CEC members voted for the list. Mazahir Panahov said the list would be posted on the website of the Central Election Commission soon.
