Baku. Ramil Mammadli–APA. Umid Party has held round table on annexes and amendments to the Electoral Code. The party’s executive official Nasimi Mammadli said they considered the election code submitted to the Parliament as a step back, APA reports. He said the elections on the basis of this law would negatively impact on the international image of Azerbaijan. The party’s representative in the Central Election Commission Akif Gurbanli said no changes have been made in the important points of the Electoral Code to be discussed at the Parliament. “Ban on the campaign on the national television restricts the rights of candidates”. ADP Deputy Chairman Taliyat Aliyev blamed international organizations in this issue. He said Venice Commission, OSCE and other international organizations don’t react to the anti-democratic changes in the Electoral Code. “Then they will say that they regret of such kind of Electoral Code. Generally work of Venice Commission does nothing for this issue”.
