Assembly of EU member countries’ Foreign Ministers discusses establishment of Eastern Partnership Organization

Baku. Tamara Grigoryeva, Lachin Sultanova –APA. Poland and Sweden have made a statement on establishment of Eastern Partnership Organization at the assembly of EU member countries’ Foreign Ministers in Brussels today, Cristina Homann, Spokesperson for EU Commissariat on Foreign Affairs told APA that discussion on the establishment of Eastern Partnership Organization with the participation of GUAM member countries and Armenia was the fist step.
“If the concrete decision is adopted, not only 27 members, but all Eastern partners, including Azerbaijan will be coordinated”, she said. Benita Ferrero-Waldner, European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy noted that establishment of Eastern Partnership Organziation would not change EU policy on these countries.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry wanted EU membership prospect for Eastern Partnership Organziation member countries. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s statement supports the efforts for new frames of relations between EU and European countries.
“We consider that establishment of Eastern Partnership Organization should take EU membership prospect of European neighbors into account”, the statement says.
