Elmar Mammadyarov to attend the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia

Baku. Tamara Grigorievaâ€“APA. The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia will hold its ministerial meeting in Kazakhstan in August, 2008. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has been invited to the conference, Latif Gandilov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan told APA. The ministers will discuss the issues of regional cooperation, new problems of regional countries and mutual integration. Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is an inter-governmental security forum in Asia initiated by President of Kazakhstan Nursulatn Nazarbayev at the 47th session of UN General Assembly on October 5, 1992. The main purpose of the initiative was the establishment of effective universal structures to provide security in Asia. The first meeting of CICA Council of foreign ministers was held on September 14, 1999.
