Russian Federation Council chief ends visit in Azerbaijan

Sergey Mironov, chief of Russia’s Federation Council ended his visit in Azerbaijan, APA reports. The visitor together with Speaker Ogtay Asadov held a press conference on his visit. The speaker said that they discussed a number of problems, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“We hope Russia will contribute to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he said.
Touching on the close cooperation between the two countries, Ogtay Asadov said 390 Russian companies are operating in Azerbaijan, 172 of which are joint ventures and 95 are funded from Russia.
Mironov said Azerbaijan is the only Post Soviet country that pays so much attention to the Russian language. He noted that opening of Baku branches of Moscow State International Relations Institute and Moscow State University was discussed during the meetings.
“Our position on all problems coincide. I highly appreciate these negotiations,” Mr.Mironov said. /APA/
