Azerbaijani Embassies in Iran and Romania hold commemoration ceremony of anniversary of 20 January tragedy

On January 20 Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania held commemoration ceremony of the 17th anniversary of 20 January tragedy, the embassy told the APA. The members of Romania-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, Azerbaijan-Romania Culture and Youths Association and Romania-Azerbaijan Trade and Industry Chamber, Azerbaijanis living and studying in this country, the representatives of Turk-Tatar Community and mass media representatives take part in the ceremony. Azerbaijani Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Romania Eldar Hasanov made speech in the ceremony and stated about barbarism acts committed by Soviet regime against Azerbaijan people who struggled for the independence, freedom and territorial integrity.
On the same day, Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran held the ceremony dedicated to the 17th anniversary of “Black January� tragedy, the embassy told the APA. According to the information the ambassadors of Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Russia, Poland, Yemen, Bangladesh, Nigeria and some other countries, and the representatives of some international organizations took part in the ceremony. In the ceremony where Azeri students take part in too, the participants were informed about the history of the tragedy. It was stated that over 130 men were killed and 7000 wounded. The other men who made speech in the ceremony condemned the vandalism act committed by Soviet troops. /APA/
