Azerbaijani embassy in Latvia to hold commemoration ceremony on 20 January tragedy

The representatives of the Azerbaijani embassy in Latvia and our compatriots living there will lay a wreath on Monument of Freedom in Riga, the embassy told the APA. Special permission for holding the commemoration ceremony has already been got from Riga Duma. Besides, commemoration ceremony on 20 January tragedy will also be held in Azerbaijani embassy in Latvia. Along with the representatives of the embassy, the Azerbaijanis living there will participate in the event. The embassy will have the articles published in mass media for informing the Latvian community of 20 January truths.
Analogous events happened in Latvia by the Soviet Army a year later, on January 20. January 20 is marked in Latvia as Commemoration Day of Barricade Victims and the leadership of the country, as well as the representatives of the accredited diplomatic offices in Latvia lay wreaths on the Monument of Freedom in the center of Riga. /APA/
