The Middle Corridor is not an alternative, but one of the arteries connecting the East and the West, said Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev during his speech at the panel titled "Middle Corridor: From Reliability to Efficiency" held within the framework of the V Tbilisi Silk Way Forum, APA's local bureau reports.

According to him, since 2022, Western countries have been showing great interest in the Middle Corridor.

"At one time, Western countries considered the Middle Corridor as a competing route. However, in recent years, we have seen an increase in the interest of those countries in the corridor," the minister said.

R. Nabiyev noted that Azerbaijan is committed to its commitments under the Middle Corridor project:

“The railway infrastructure in Azerbaijan has been fully renovated, and thousands of kilometers of railways have been laid. Three of the nine international airports have been built in recently liberated territories. Azerbaijan has also invested approximately $1 billion in the development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line in Georgia.”

The minister also touched upon the Zangezur corridor, emphasizing that the corridor has great prospects for its development.
