Former footballer of Türkiye's Galatasaray club Cevad Prekazi has died at the age of 69, Apasport.az reports, citing the Istanbul club's press service.
The club issued a statement expressing condolences over the death of its legendary footballer.
"Prekazi, who turned a generation into Galatasaray fans with his unforgettable goals and the joy he brought, will always live in our hearts. We will never forget you," the statement said.
Born in 1957, Prekazi played for Galatasaray from 1985 to 1991. With the Istanbul club, he won the Turkish championship twice, the Turkish Cup once, and the Super Cup three times.
It should be noted that the former midfielder also played for Partizan, Hajduk Split, Altay, and Bakırköyspor during his career.
