Armenia’s choice of U.S. nuclear technology raises questions in Russia, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said during today's briefing, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to her, Armenia is certainly free to work with any partner it deems necessary: “However, the choice of American nuclear technology really raises questions,” the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized.
Zakharova said that the small nuclear power plants proposed by the United States do not exist on U.S. territory.
“In principle, they do not exist — only on paper,” Zakharova said.
Note that during a visit by U.S. Vice President James David Vance to Yerevan, a memorandum was signed on the construction of a nuclear power plant.
