Armenia’s railway system could collapse overnight, said Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, the Armenian authorities’ desire to replace Russia in the management of the railways is a poorly thought-out decision.
Shoigu believes that if this happens, the system they have built could collapse overnight: “A system built over approximately 20 years could simply collapse in one night.”
He recalled that Russia has invested more than 30 billion rubles in Armenia’s railways over the past 20 years: “All essential cargo for Armenia’s needs is transported via the South Caucasus Railway. I doubt that any company from other countries could replace Russia’s South Caucasus Railway.”
