The Kremlin is taking U.S. President Donald Trump’s harsh statements about Vladimir Putin calmly, as such behavior is typical for the U.S. president, said the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
The Kremlin has not confirmed reports that Trump threatened to bomb Moscow in 2024 during a conversation with Vladimir Putin: “The Kremlin does not know whether this is fake or not. There was no conversation at that time. We are talking about a period before Trump became president.”
The Kremlin spokesperson said there is no disagreement between Washington and Moscow. According to him, Russia and the U.S. desire to resolve the situation in Ukraine through political and diplomatic means: “The complexity of the situation in Ukraine does not allow for an immediate diplomatic resolution. Moscow expects the third round of talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations to take place and the dialogue to continue. Direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are in Kyiv’s interests because the situation on the ground changes daily to the detriment of Ukrainians. Russian troops are advancing and creating a buffer zone to ensure security.”
