The referendum held in Kazakhstan on March 15 was observed with the participation of international observers, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Astana reports.
Along with observers from various countries, representatives of Azerbaijan also monitored the voting. They observed the voting process in the capital Astana and other polling stations and familiarized themselves with the organizational procedures.
Malahat Ibrahimgizi, a member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a member of the Legal Affairs and International Relations Commission of TURKPA, who monitored the referendum in Kazakhstan, stated that the election process was conducted in accordance with international standards and the voting was transparent.
The MP noted that they conducted observations at dozens of polling stations in Astana: “The organization of the polling stations fully met international standards.”
Malahat Ibrahimgizi emphasized that the referendum is an important step in terms of Kazakhstan’s democratic development.
Another Azerbaijani observer, member of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Naila Asgarova, stated that the voting was organized at a high level.
According to her, observations were conducted at 19 polling stations in Astana, and the process was managed in a clear, systematic, and transparent manner.
Recall that a nationwide vote was held in Kazakhstan on March 15 for the adoption of the new Constitution. Voter turnout in the referendum reached up to 75%.
The results of the vote will be announced today.
