Baku-APA. Moscow demands that Tehran account for the arrests of two Russian citizens in Iran, the Foreign Ministry said Monday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"Moscow expects the Iranian authorities will comprehensively explain the incident," the ministry said on its website.

The ministry said that neither accusations against the detainees nor reasons for their arrests have been given.

Earlier media reports said that a number of employees, including two Russian nationals, involved with the Iranian-Kazakh joint venture Zar Kuh were detained in Tehran on April 5.

The two Russians were released Sunday after the insistent effort of the Russian embassy in Iran, the ministry said. However, the pair has since stayed in a hospital in Tehran due to their poor physical condition.
