The decree was published in the official press on Friday and came into legal force. According to the decree the Kazakhstan’s Central Election Commission was tasked to organize and hold the elections, the government to ensure the financing of the process, the local authorities to organize the list of electors.
Kazakhstan’s parliament approved the draft law on the amendments to the Constitution, APA reports. The amendment allows the president to hold early presidential elections. After the Constitutional Council had canceled the decision to extend the president’s term until 2020, Nazarbayev proposed to hold early presidential elections.
