Chief of the emergency service of the Tbilisi Mayors Office Teymur Giorgadze said the explosion happened at about 1.30-2.00 in the cemetery between the former car market and the US embassy in the Georgian capital, APA reports quoting the Georgian news agencies.
Girgadze said the explosion was in 100 m of the US embassy.
The cemetery’s fence was damaged as a result of the explosion.
Local residents said the explosion was heard in other districts of the city as well.
