Baku – APA. Romanian citizen Oliver Raduku Marian, who was charged with plastic card fraud in Armenia, sent a letter to Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan telling how he bought off his imprisonment in Armenia, APA reports. Marian was arrested by the Armenian special services in August, 2008. He was accused in use of false plastic cards and misappropriation of tens of thousands of dollars from ATMs in Armenia. Several people were arrested for this crime. Aykakan Jamanak newspaper reported that Marian headed their criminal group, but the court sentenced him to two years of imprisonment only and after 14 months of imprisonment he was released and left Armenia. His accomplice Konstantin Stengachu was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment. He served the sentence in Vardashen penitentiary.

Marian said in his letter that he was released because he gave 50 000 euros and 20 000 dollars of bribe to the Armenian security and law-enforcement officials, who cast the blame on Konstantin Stengachu. Marian admitted guilt in his letter to the president and said Stengachu was arrested on his account.
