Moscow – APA. “The Hague court has no authority to review Georgian lawsuit against Russia”, Director of the Legal Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry and Russian representative to the international court Cyril Gevorkian, APA reports. He said “the lawsuit was filed after the failure of Georgia’s military gamble and so the complainant-country tried to introduce itself as a victim of the conflict created by itself”.

The Hague court held a hearing on Georgia vs Russia case, where Georgia accuses Russia in violation of international convention on elimination of racial discrimination in 1990-2008. The court passed preliminary decision in October, 2008 calling on both Moscow and Tbilisi to avoid any racial discrimination in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Russia protested the Georgian lawsuit last December. The last hearings were dedicated to the Russian protests.
