20 militants killed on Tajikistan-Afghanistan borders

Baku – APA. At least 20 Islamist militants and one border guard were killed earlier this week in a firefight along the volatile border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, APA reports quoting AFP. There was a clash with small arms fire which lasted nearly 24 hours. As a result, at least 20 militants and one border ensign were killed. The clash took place in Panc river islands between the Tajik border guards and 40 militants of Taliban. Survived members of the group were driven toward Afghanistan. Ammunitions and agitation materials about Taliban and Al Qaeda were found at site.
