The minister’s order was publicized at the defense ministry’s board meeting on August 6. Eight officers were expelled and several others were degraded in the ranks. Different disciplinary measures were taken against some officers as well.

Ohanyan said the army incidents caused a great reverberation among the society. He urged the officers to analyze the incidents seriously and to take preventive measures to avoid such cases in the future. The minister said the Armenian armed forces were faithfully defending the country, but some dishonest officers caused such incidents in the army. He said there were some officers slanting to violence and other immoral actions.

The military servicemen accused in grave crimes were convoyed by military police to the board meeting room.
